We Are in the MICHELIN 2025 Selection
A Historic Milestone: Michelin Guide Evaluates All of Czechia for the First Time – and We Are Among the Recommended Restaurants!
In a historic moment for Czech gastronomy, the first nationwide MICHELIN Guide for the Czech Republic has debuted, covering for the first time the culinary offerings across the entire country – from Prague and Brno to wine regions and smaller towns. In this prestigious selection, our restaurant Grand Cru is listed as a recommended restaurant – an achievement we can be justly proud of! The kitchen is led by Chef Svatopluk Hemmer, who, together with his team, has maintained high standards throughout the year, earning the attention of this world-renowned gastronomic guide.
Michelin Guide – What’s New This Year?
Until 2025, the MICHELIN Guide in Czechia was only partially available, with coverage mainly limited to Prague and its top restaurants. The new Michelin Guide Czechia 2025 for the first time encompasses the entire Czech Republic, offering an unprecedented overview of restaurants that meet world-class standards.
The new nationwide edition of the guide includes:
- 1 restaurant with two MICHELIN stars
- 8 restaurants with one MICHELIN star
- 4 Green Star restaurants (sustainable gastronomy)
- 18 Bib Gourmand establishments (excellent quality at a reasonable price)
- and 52 recommended restaurants by the inspectors – including us.
Overall, the new MICHELIN Guide highlights several dozen Czech establishments that, according to expert inspectors, meet standards worthy of presenting to gastronomic audiences both at home and abroad.
Significance for Czech Gastronomy
The MICHELIN Guide conducts its evaluations through anonymous inspectors, who visit restaurants and assess them according to strict criteria: ingredient quality, cooking technique, flavor balance, chef personality, and consistency of the experience. This ensures that the resulting recommendations provide an independent and globally respected assessment of restaurant quality.
This step represents a significant chapter for Czech gastronomy – rewarding years of dedication by local chefs, encouraging competition, and enhancing the prestige of Czech restaurants among international visitors and food enthusiasts.
What This Means for Us
For our restaurant, being listed among the recommended MICHELIN Guide establishments is an enormous honor. It recognizes not only the quality of our dishes but also the overall gastronomic experience we offer our guests.
This recognition is not only prestigious but also serves as an inspiration for further growth, confirming our place on both the Czech and international culinary map.
“We were thrilled that our efforts have been acknowledged in this first nationwide guide. Personally, it is a reward for years of work and a confirmation that Czech gastronomy has much to offer the world,” said Svatopluk Hemmer.
